Durango Chiminea with Screen

A chiminea and a fire pit all in one handy unit!
Roast marshmallows one night and relax in front of the fire the next . . . all simply by rearranging the pieces of the Durango Chiminea with Screen. Made of hand-spun copper by highly skilled craftsman, this accent piece is both functional and decorative. The copper bowl sits on a sturdy platform base with four legs. The circular spark guard allows easy access for adding wood and protects against stray embers. Chiminea lid and vent cap are made of matching copper and will change to a patina finish over time. The beauty and versatility of the Durango Chiminea earned a 2005 VESTA award for design. Minor assembly required.
For use as a chiminea: Assemble pieces as shown above. From bottom to top - stand, bowl, screen, lid, vent cap.
For use as a fire pit: Just place the bowl in the stand and set the other pieces aside.
Cooking over this copper pit is completely safe as there are no chemicals used in the base metal; however, for your safety the units are cleaned with a solvent prior to packaging. To make absolutely certain that all residual solvent is gone, you should burn a normal fire in the pit. After this first fire, the pit is primed and ready for cooking. The copper bowls can handle up to 1,700 degrees and will not melt.
