The firepit poker is a good safe length. It's sturdy and has a good "hefty" weight when using. I feel confident that there will be no mishaps while using this product. There is no fabricated handle to worry about getting busted off of it. Practical and a good value. *Disclosure: I have been offered 10% or something like that, for my next purchase, for writing this honest review.

OK, I admit it, I looked at the picture and, w/o reading/focusing on the stated length, bought what I just knew would be the 4 feet or so you would want for a fire pit. WRONG. What a disappointment. It's the length of something you'd use to roast marshmallows.
