Cost wasn't an important factor in this purchase. Obtaining what I wanted was. [...] The instructions were not that clear, and you had to use your own judgement to get some items together. The biggest 2 problems?? Number one, it ISN"T as WIDE as the picture makes it look. It's Tall, and somewhat skinny. This is a problem when using "normal" size pieces of wood. They won't fit horizontal and have to go in vertical. That exacerbates problem #2. The sides of the pit(the expanded screen)is not attached to the FirePit. It just sits on the bottom. If your wood falls over, there is a REAL danger of the Screen section toppling over and creating a large problem with burning wood all over the place.I suggest IF you buy this to assemble it, and drill 3 holes into the standoffs that hold the screen on the bottom of the pit. Throw the included Nuts away and substitue Wingnuts. At that point, the Screen is SECURED to the bottom and can't fall over when wood is loaded in to burn. When dumping, simply remove the wingnuts, remove screen, dump the ashes and reassemble. I think the manufacturer should modify their product to be like this, but that's just my opinion. I would reccommend this item, but would strongly reccommend the above mods also after purchase. Hope it helps you.
