This fire pit is a decent value, and over-all performs well, but there a few design flaws that a buyer should be aware of before purchasing. The screen lid isn't sized to fit properly, and the threaded screws that are used to support the grill insert are too small, causing the grill platform to fall into the pit. One of my friends had to modify the screws to make it functional. However, if you're not planing on cooking with it, this fire pit is great.

Product safety rail did not fit properly. Hayneedle immeadiately refunded my money and offered a replacement. I am more than happy with thier customer service. I will order from them again.

I bought this for my wife. It came in and when I went to assemble, the bolts that retain the ring were stripped, as in used. Hayneedle took care of it, sending me a new one. The new one came in, and now I know why the bolts were stripped on the first one, the nuts are slightly larger than the bolt. They can be hand tightened, but in order to get them solid so the ring is secure, you need to use a wrench. (recommended in instructions) So they strip before even coming close to securing the ring. The rest of the fire pit is well constructed and looks great when there is a fire in it. I left the ring off this one until I can locate the proper sized nuts. I'm hoping it isn't a matter of poor manufacturing in which case I'll never find the right size. It doesn't state where it was made, my guess is in China where the industry standards are not of those in the US. If it was made in the US, the company should be ashamed of their craftsmanship.

It was delivered very quickly. The box was in good shape. My parents didn't open it until Christmas so I was praying there was no damage.
