I was looking for a firepit for the backyard, for entertaining, and to dispose of the wood from several trees I cut down. This fit the bill perfectly, and a good value for what it is. We spent many nights sitting by the fire, grilling hot dogs on sticks or roasting marshmallows... the best part of camping, without having to sleep in a tent! It is solid and sturdy, was easy to put together, and portable. Stows easily in the garage to keep it out of the weather, though it does come with a plastic rain cover. The spark cover is a little flimsy, but gets the job done. Just don't put this on a wooden deck, as it will singe the wood (I propped the legs of mine on wood planks in the backyard, and it burned the wood a little) Throws some good heat, and is large enough to fit some decent sized logs. Good product, I would purchase again!

Poor welding

Looks great cannot wait to use it, but first must contact hayneedle to send new handle piece to replace one that came with broken tack welds,unable to secure carrying arm to bowl.

Q1: Is this fire pit USDA approved for safe fires in forest areas?

A: We do not recommend using our wood burning fire pits on a wooden surface, or on grass; near walls or flammable articles or under overhead coverings. Keep at least 2 feet away from all other articles during use.

Q2: What is the depth of the bowl?

A: The depth is 12.6 inches.

Q3: What happens if it rains? Doesn't the pit fill with water and make all the ash wet and smelly?

A: The Quick Ship! Bronze Crossweave Firebowl Fire Pit with Cover includes a PVC cover to protect the fire pit from the elements.

Q4: Does this come in black?

A: Unfortunately we do not carry this fire pit in black. Similar in design, but with a black finish are items: CP034, CP037, and MXI007.
