Fire Rings
There are few outdoor activities more primal and more satisfying on a crisp fall evening than building one's very own roaring fire. However, the responsible 21st-Century Prometheus, ever wary of his neighbors' anxiety levels, would do well to start with fire rings. Look the Part What is a Fire Ring? If you're hoping to build a fire somewhere that isn't fire-safe, such as on your patio or in your backyard, you may want to look into an outdoor fire pit instead. Fire pits have legs and bottoms, and are designed to contain the entire fire instead of just keeping it in one place. | ![]() |
Safety First
The man in you (or, more likely, your husband) may feel that he can contain a fire without the use of a fire ring. Just tell that to Mrs. O'Leary's cow!
Once you've chosen where to build your fire, make sure you use a fire ring large enough to contain it. Keep in mind that your firewood will have to fit inside of the ring, and the flames will get larger as the fire burns. At the same time, make sure your fire ring isn't so large that your fire gets out of control.
Always build fires away from potentially flammable areas. Make sure there are no trees, grass, or buildings within a good distance. Even with the use of a fire ring, fires should be treated with extreme caution.
Burn, Burn, Burn
Fire rings provide safe and stylish containers for campfires, cooking fires, or bonfires. The array of fire rings available ensures you'll find just what you need to make your next outdoor gathering memorable.
