My wife and I were in the market for a fire pit. realizing that most gas/LP pits were $1000 or more we found this model. After ordering it online on Labor Day we [...]hopped to it and had it together in an hour-and-a-half. Not much to assembly... a screw driver and an allen wrench (that's all) I figure if it takes no time at all to assemble, it must be cheesy cheep. Trust me, this is well built, and could cause some difficulty in assembly.One of my (little) concerns with this fire pit was hiding the white LP tank underneath... well, to my surprise they included a black cover that snuggly fits over your tank and it virtually disappears. (nice touch) it easily lights... and after about a minute the blue flames turn into a natural yellow campfire without the smoke and mess. Yes, you can sit anywhere without getting smoke blown in your eyes. And as for the heat... last night it was 45 degrees here and my wife and I sat with our feet up by the fire and found it totally comfortable. By the way, my Martin D-41 sounded pretty sweet as well as I played guitar for over an hour.The Fire is mesmerizing... wonderful product, we want to buy our in-laws one... still might. And yes, it's true...Happy wife, happy life :)

While it is a pretty piece, an assembly that I assessed to be 45min ended up at 2+ hours!! REALLY look closely at the pictures in the instructions. There are VERY few descriptive words to help. I had struggled to do steps 1-3 THEN found that I put the burner assembly off by 90 degrees so I had to take things apart and start over! The majority of the assembly uses 10-32 light weight screws and the alignment with the pre-inserted captive nuts was bad. I ended up having to use a hand Phillips screw driver and was not able to align about 20% of the screws. I put things together ALL the time, and this was painful. BUT... it looks great!!

Researched many fire pits. Great BTU's, nice tile work. Seems sturdy and well built. Took hours for 2 people to assemble; many, many small screws!! Well worth the effort and wait.

Glad i didn't listen to the comments. Putting this together took about an hour for me and my husband but certainly wasn't hard. Once put together - it worked perfectly! Looks great and is so nice to be able to go outside and just turn it on and off. I would only suggest a nicer, sturdier cover.
