The Story
Lava Heat Italia is a Los Angeles–based luxury outdoor heating company that launched in 2001 with a single brief: bring the Amalfi Coast home. Where most of the patio heater category engineers to a price point and dresses the result in sheet metal, Lava Heat starts with the silhouette — a column of flame rising through a borosilicate glass tube, held in a precision-finished chassis — and builds the engineering around it. The heater reads as furniture by day and becomes the light source after dark.
The lineup breaks into two visual languages. The 2G, Lava Lite, Opus and Opus Lite flame towers put the flame front-and-center inside a glass column — 42,000 to 66,000 BTU of radiant heat with a signature silhouette that's been widely imitated and never quite copied. The Capri and Milano series take a conical, more traditional heater form in a smaller footprint. Palermo wraps a marine-grade aluminum tower in all-weather rattan — Ash, Charcoal, Natural, and Walnut — for coastal and shade-garden settings where cold metal would feel wrong. Ember is the only collapsible in the range, built for storage or seasonal use.
What you're paying for is the construction and the finish program. Columns are marine-grade aluminum. Emitters are 430-grade stainless. Glass is shatter-resistant borosilicate. CSA certification is standard. The 500-hour ASTM B117 salt-spray test — the hospitality-industry benchmark — is passed across every model, which is why these show up on the patios of Forbes Five-Star resorts and Michelin-starred restaurants in 50+ countries. The warranty backs it: lifetime limited on the frame, 3 years on parts and finish, 1 year on burner components. On the Stainless Steel versions, the RAL and Corsa custom color programs let you spec the heater to match an architect's palette rather than pick from the standard three.

Design Principles
What Lava Heat Italia Cares About
01
Italian flame-tower design
A column of visible flame inside borosilicate glass — the silhouette the brand is known for, originally designed and engineered in Italy, finished in Los Angeles.
02
Hospitality-grade construction
Marine-grade aluminum columns, 430-grade stainless emitters, CSA-certified, 500-hour ASTM B117 salt-spray tested. The build spec that puts them on Michelin and Forbes Five-Star patios.
03
Lifetime frame warranty
Lifetime limited on the frame, 3 years on parts and finish, 1 year on burner components. Backed across every residential and commercial installation.
04
RAL + Corsa custom color program
Standard finishes in Hammered Black, Heritage Bronze and Stainless Steel. Stainless Steel models add a RAL palette plus Corsa textured finishes — spec the heater to match an architect's palette.
Questions
Frequently Asked About Lava Heat Italia
Which Lava Heat Italia model should I pick?
Open patios where you want the flame to be the visual centerpiece — 2G, Lava Lite, Opus or Opus Lite flame towers (56,000–66,000 BTU). Smaller patios or dining areas where a traditional conical heater fits the architecture — Capri (42,000 BTU) or Milano (36,000 BTU). Coastal and shade-garden settings where metal feels wrong — Palermo (rattan-wrapped, 51,000 BTU, four weave colors). Seasonal use where storage matters — Ember, the only collapsible in the range.
Natural gas or liquid propane?
Natural gas (NG) is the right call when the patio has a gas line (or can economically run one). You never swap a tank, operating cost per hour is lower, and the heater can run indefinitely. Liquid propane (LP) is right for everywhere else — no gas line required, portability if you move the heater seasonally, and a standard 20-lb tank runs most of the lineup for a full evening. Every Lava Heat Italia model is available in both fuel configurations.
What are the RAL and Corsa custom colors?
The Stainless Steel versions of the 2G, Lava Lite, Capri, Opus and Opus Lite series open up two custom color programs. RAL is the European industrial color standard — jewel tones (RAL 3003 Ruby Red, RAL 5002 Ultramarine Blue, RAL 6005 Moss Green) through to neutrals (RAL 9016 Traffic White, RAL 7016 Anthracite Grey). Corsa is Lava Heat's own textured-finish program — Corsa Taupe, Pebble, Slate, Bronze, Green, Black and Blanco. Specify at order; lead times run slightly longer than standard finishes.
Will these actually survive a coastal or poolside install?
Yes — that's part of the engineering spec. Every Lava Heat Italia model passes the ASTM B117 500-hour salt-spray test, which is the hospitality-industry benchmark for coastal durability. Columns are marine-grade aluminum. On the Palermo, the rattan is sun-resistant marine-grade material rather than decorative weave. The lifetime frame warranty covers the structural element; the 3-year parts/finish warranty covers the paint and plating.
